The Soil and Sediment Control Act of 1976 stipulates that any project proposing more than 5,000 square feet of soil disturbance must have a Soil Erosion and Sediment Control Plan certified by the local District to ensure that the project meets State Standards. Agricultural tilling activities and certain single-family residences are exempt from this regulation. Please call the District at (609) 586-9603 for a determination of applicability to your project.
District staff inspects the site throughout the duration of the project. The developer must obtain a Report of Compliance from the district before a Municipal Construction Code Official issues a Certificate of Occupancy for the home or project.
